Billy Wier
Inventor of the RealCow and owner of RealCow Training Systems LLC.
Billy was born and raised in Barnwell, SC where he started riding horses at an early age. He went to Barnwell High School where he played football for his dad, head coach Mac Wier, along with team roping and roping calves in the South Carolina High School Rodeo Association. He then attended college at Clemson University where he continued training and showing rope horses. Billy graduated from Clemson with a Biosytems Engineering degree but decided to continue his career in the equine industry. He began training and showing cutting horses in 2003 and started his own business (Wier Cutting Horses LLC) in 2008 which he still operates today at Southern Comfort Farms in Barnwell. He married his beautiful wife Myra in 2012 and they have two sons, Grant and Harris.
The RealCow was developed to help combat the ever growing shortage of quality cattle to work. As the price of cattle has gotten increasingly expensive, they are handled more making them less useful to effectively train horses. Billy used his engineering background along with his training experience to build a machine that is not only realistic, but durable and functional as well. He wanted a machine that could be used to train horses as well as help Non Pros and Amateurs learn to ride and show.
He accomplished this with the RealCow.
